SOIL_TAKE_CARE – Precarious Soil
Project Overview
Soil is a natural element of primary importance in the life of communities and ecosystems. However, it is constantly under threat and sometimes suffers irreversible damage, while public administrations are faced with the high cost of treating contaminated areas. In this context, SOIL_TAKE_CARE proposes to create innovative devices and methodologies for the rapid and cheap diagnosis of metal and hydrocarbon pollution in Southwest European countries, providing information on the areas most at risk and identifying the strengths and weaknesses of communities facing pollution.
Project Results
Among its results, it is worth mentioning:
Diagnostic tools for estimating soil contamination.
Soil remediation techniques.
Decision-making tools for administrations and managers of contaminated sites.
Health risk maps.
Influence on national public policies according to the context of each country.
