FORESTFIRE II – Forest fires and nature II – second part of raising rural residents awareness of the forest fire prevention issue
Project Overview
The FORESTFIRE project aimed to reduce the risk of forest fires caused by human activity, by raising awareness of forest fire prevention among rural residents and people using forests for recreational purposes. This aim was to be achieved through the implementation of a regional media campaign, the production and distribution of information addressed at specific target subgroups, and the preparation and running of forest fire prevention training courses. Project Results
1) Regional TV channels emitted 5 different spots: 2) 2 regional radio stations in all four voivodships emitted five different spots; 3) report from the public opinion poll CATI part I; 4) Publication of several sponsored public announcements and articles; 5) Production of 50 000 DVD films and informative materials; 6) Production of informative-promotional materials; 7) Educational material sets compiled and created for teachers, representatives of volunteer fire brigades and priests; 8) 8 training workshops for secondary school teachers at which 400 people were trained; 9) Organisation of 8 training workshops for representatives of volunteer fire brigades at which 240 people were trained; 10) Reports of the ex-ante and ex-post questionnaires of the training participants; 11) Production of 800 information tables placed at key points on areas covered by the campaign; 12) organisation of 3 press conferences.; 13) organisation of 4 contests for secondary schools.
