Interreg- WPS – Water polution sensor
Good Practices Category
Good Practices Summary
The objective of the project is to provide quality sensors at moderate prices in order to allow purchase by many actors.
Mitigation
Mitigation of the risk of water contamination. Use of locally available resources.
Replicability/Knowledge Transfer
The measurement tools developed as part of the project are limited in cost in order to extend the adaptation to as many places as possible. The project has transferability as its basis. Moreover, in order to extend this new technology to the maximum number of pollution situations, the programme wishes to study many pollutants and integrate them into the sensor.
Resources
The project is ongoing. The available documents are conclusions on the study of the different pollutants and on the progress of the sensors. The project is present on social networks.
Target Audience
Policy Implications
The Ministry of Science, Research and Arts of Baden-Württemberg and the Ministry of Science, Further Education and Culture of Rhineland-Palatinate are directly involved in the project. In addition, it is important to remember that drinking water networks are linked to both public and private organisations.
Social Dimension
The project will make it possible to improve the health security of individuals.
Innovation Type
TechnologyInnovation
The innovation of the product is in the measurement method, the project wishes to develop a water analysis based on pulsed amperometry, a time-resolved fluorescence measurement and a nuclear magnetic resonance measurement.
The project aims to develop a commercial product that can be adapted to many pollutants according to local needs. To this end, the project wishes to create and test a prototype and integrate the data into an existing platform so that users can directly validate or not the data obtained.
