BALTADAPT – Development of a Baltic Sea Region-wide climate change adaptation strategy
Project Overview
The objective of the Baltadapt project was to formulate the main lines of a climate change adaptation strategy for the Baltic Sea region, as well as an action plan with proposed recommendations and guidelines for climate change adaptation. These two documents aim to prepare the ground for the political approval of a strategy and action plan for adaptation to climate change in the Baltic Sea region.
Project Results
The project seems to have been based on communication, communication within the scientific sphere but also with politicians and at the local level.
The fruit of the project is materialized through their very well maintained and structured website but also through working documents for different audiences. The project proposed a real strategy, a plan for the future with climate change.
It is therefore possible to download a guide called “Baltadapt strategy” and a guide “Baltadapt action plan”.
These guides propose adjustments, measures to be implemented, actions to be taken.
On the website it is also possible to find “information” sheets. Each of the sheets presents a climate domain, details it and shows the evolution of the phenomenon. These sheets provide information but also help to make people concerned about climate change.
