Project Overview

Constructing AcTive CitizensHip with European Youth: Policies, Practices, Challenges and Solutions.

The CATCH-EyoU project aims to identify ways and means to help cultivate a new generation of young European citizens in a complex historical period.

The proposal will examine young people’s views on the EU and their role in building the EU through their participatory practices at European, national, regional and local levels. This work is interdisciplinary in order to understand the mechanisms within society and to be able to reapply knowledge.

A wide range of research methods will be used, including literature and media analysis, interviews and focus groups, a longitudinal transnational study, ethnographic case studies on participatory practices and a socially innovative intervention.
