Project Overview

ERMES Rhine has enabled written recommendations for the implementation of political strategies to preserve and regain the quality of the water resource. This decision-making tool was addressed to the various competent decision-makers.

Project Results

The results of the project are numerous. The project has set up water quality indicators that have been modified throughout the project to produce, in the end, the most representative indicators of water quality. The project produced explanatory and technical sheets for each indicator. The 20 data sheets and technical annexes should explain the calculation of these indicators. They are intended to help decision-makers and technical agents to identify current issues and redirect the policies implemented in order to meet European, national and regional requirements and preserve water resources. All the documents can be downloaded from the project website. The project has also made available its communication documents (posters around pollutants etc), the documents can be downloaded. On their website, it is possible to visualize the situation of one’s municipality directly via a cartographic tool for localization. More than 30 maps are available, each one showing a pollutant etc.
