Project Overview

ICE2SEa aims to estimate the impact of melting glaciers on the rise of seas and oceans. Ice2sea wants to improve sea level science and provide new estimates of sea level and the impact of melting glaciers.

One of the main objectives is to provide an estimate of glacier levels over the next 200 years.

These objectives will be achieved through:

– targeted studies on natural processes in mountains, within the

glaciers, ice caps and polar ice sheets (Greenland and Antarctica);

– use of satellites to model marine currents and understand the articulation of phenomena

– development of techniques for predicting the impact of climate change on glaciers

Project Results

The results of the project have been published in different forms in order to serve at the scientific level but also to serve as a support for policies and as an example in scientific and political discourse. This program has provided evidence of global warming and a quantification of this phenomenon. It also allows us to imagine climate change.
