PYROSUDOE

The objective of the project is to improve the management policies of the forest / habitat interfaces in favor of fire risk prevention, in order to reduce threats to the population and infrastructure and protect the environment and the natural environment, all this through the elaboration of common strategies among the protagonist actors of the SUDOE space, of pilot actions that will be carried out in each partner territory and of the realization of actions and measures integrated in the regional policies of the beneficiaries.

As results, were proposed:

– Creation of a permanent network of managers of the forest / habitat interfaces and accompaniment of the cross-examination of the regulations in each one of the partners for a better integration of the interface problem.

– Creation of a common reference on risk culture in the interface areas. – Increase of elected officials, decorators, urban planners, users, fire fighting protagonists … informed about the characteristics of forest / habitat interface zones and their management

– Reduction of fire risk in interface zones

– Sharing of the data acquired during the course of the project (cartographic data, analytical data on the experiences after the fires) with European tools on risk management (Nedies project, specifically).

– Improvement of the consideration of the management of interfaces in regional policies for the prevention of fire risks.
