Project Overview

The main objective of this research project was to provide evidence of the impacts of climate change and to cost a range of adaptation measures, the project focuses on the urban domain. The program focused on policies to make the measures work. The project focused on climate impacts and adaptation strategies relevant to urban areas because of their high social and economic importance.

The programme aims to detail the developments made in 8 cities. The researchers wish to quantify and qualify the costs of the developments; this would then make it possible to propose new costs. The programme aims to develop an adaptation guide for cities. He wants to establish dialogue with the leaders and create exchange.

The programme also aims to establish a database of actions taken by cities.

Project Results

They create a tool box on the website. It’s possible to find documents about the transition.

RAMSES focuses on climate change adaptation planning, including the cost of climate change damage and adaptation costs. In response to the diversity of urban environments explored, the consortium has developed analytical frameworks for the implementation of adaptation strategies and measures in European and international cities. As a result, the project has developed a set of innovative methods and tools that quantify the impacts of climate change and the costs and benefits of climate change adaptation, thus providing evidence to enable decision-makers to design adaptation strategies.

The project explored several arrangements and methods, which made it possible to rebalance prices and create a range of solutions.

The fruit of the project is mainly “cognitive”.
